LEGEND
A long time ago, in the middle of the mountains, there was a wide and peaceful river. The people who lived nearby said it was so big that it looked like a long dragon sleeping beside the hills. The water was clear and calm, and it gave life to the trees, animals, and the early settlers in the area.
But one day, a strong earthquake and a powerful storm happened. The land shook, the sky turned dark, and the peaceful river started to move wildly. Because of this, the shape of the river changed. It began to form a circle in the middle of the valley. The ground broke, and the river split, creating new land where people could live and plant crops.
The people were scared at first, but they chose to stay and build a new life on the land left behind by the river. They believed this land was special, so they named their place “Cambilog,” which comes from the word “bilog” or “circle,” because the river once formed a round shape before it broke apart.
Even today, some elders say that if you listen quietly at night, you can still hear the sound of the old river under the ground. And when it rains hard, it feels like the river wants to return—not to cause harm, but to remind everyone of the past.
Cambilog is a place born from nature’s power, but it became a home because of the people’s courage and unity. It shows that even after disaster, a strong and peaceful community can rise.
